What we do with your data.
Offplate.io is not open yet. The only personal data we hold is what you give us when you ask to be told about the launch. This page explains exactly what that is, who else touches it, and how to get it removed.

Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is Vitalie Andries, based in Chișinău, Moldova.
For anything in this notice, including requests to see or delete your data, write to hello@offplate.io.
What we collect
- Your email address, which you type into the signup form.
- The fact that you confirmed it, and when — we send a code and record that it was entered correctly.
- Technical data created by simply loading the page: your IP address, browser and device type, held in server access logs and used by our bot protection.
We do not ask for your name, company, or phone number. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not profile you.
Why we hold it, and on what legal basis
We hold your email for one purpose: to contact you when we open the first places. That is it. We will not send you a newsletter, and we will not sell or share your address for anyone else's marketing.
Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to hello@offplate.io, and we will delete your record.
The technical data above is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) in keeping the site available and free of automated abuse.
Who else processes it
We keep the list of processors deliberately short, and we only use established providers who are contractually bound to protect your data:
- Clerk, Inc. (United States) — stores your email address and its verification status, and sends the confirmation code.
- Cloudflare (bot protection) — Clerk's signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people apart from automated scripts. It processes technical signals from your browser while you complete the form.
- Fly.io (Frankfurt, Germany) — hosts the website itself and keeps short-lived server access logs.
Where your data is stored
The website is served from Frankfurt, Germany.
Your email address, however, is stored by Clerk on infrastructure in the United States. Clerk does not currently offer European storage. This transfer is made lawful under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which Clerk is certified, together with Standard Contractual Clauses and a data processing agreement. We would rather hold this data in the EU and will move it if a suitable option becomes available — we would rather say this plainly than imply otherwise.
How long we keep it
Until we launch and have contacted you, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.
If we decide not to launch, or the waitlist is closed without you being contacted, we delete the whole list. We do not keep addresses for a future idea.
Cookies and what stays on your device
We set no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
After you confirm your email, Clerk sets a session cookie. It is strictly necessary to complete the signup and to recognise you if you return.
Your language and light or dark preference are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. You may also withdraw your consent at any time.
Write to hello@offplate.io and we will act on it. You do not need to give a reason to be removed.
If you believe we have handled your data badly, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your data before launch, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your email, we will tell you directly.
